The kidnapped Chairman of Akwanga Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, Safiyanu Isah Andaha, has regained freedom after payment of N10m ransom..
PERISCOPE NIGERIA had reported that the LG Chairman was on Monday night abducted alongside his friend, Adamu Custom along the Akwanga-Andaha road in the state.
A source who begged for anonymity said they were released after the perpetrators received the payment, the kidnappers dropped the victims behind a filling station along Bayan Dutse road, an outskirt of Andaha town to enable their families locate them.
“They were released around 9pm on Tuesday behind a filling station at Bayan Dutse road after the sum of 10 million naira was paid as ransom.
“The kidnappers who are suspected to be Fulani herdsmen kept taking the victims through several bush parts which made them very tired.
“But immediately they regained freedom, they were escorted by security men to the Federal Medical Centre in Keffi for medical attention, and were later reunited with their families,” the source said.
