….. As Professor Njodi tasks fire service Directorate to sit up
The Dogon-Ruwa Community Development Association in Kaltungo Local Government Area has lauded Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for his massive infrastructural development projects in the state especially in their domain.
Conveying the community’s gratitude to Yahaya through the Secretary to Government of the State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Village Head Alhaji Bashar Isa, also appealed to the governor for intervention in some critical matters.
He cited erosion as a serious threat to lives and property of the community hence, an appeal for government’s intervention to salvage the Community from being totally washed away from the Dogon-Ruwa River bank.
Responding to the plea, the SGS, Professor Njodi said the administration of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya being sensitive to the plight of it citizens will immediately send a team of experts to assess the level of threat with a view to finding a lasting solution.
Njodi appreciated the community for its support to the Inuwa Yahaya-led administration and assured of the governor’s efforts to reach all communities with developmental programmes.
In another development, the SSG has tasked the Gombe State Fire Service to sit up to their responsibilities of saving lives and property of the people.
Njodi who gave the charge while addressing the Director and Heads of Department during a courtesy call to Government House,
noted that their work is hazardous and assured of government support through the provision of basic working equipment and training to enable them function effectively.
He directed that all requirements be formally written to the governor through his office for consideration .
Earlier, the Director Fire Service Mrs Lami Mamman, said they were at Government House on a familiarisation visit following the deployment of Fire Service Department to the SSGs office.
Mamman used the visit to commend Governor Yahaya for always supporting the fire fighting outfit and appealed for more fire vehicles, additional staff and increase allowances for staff among others to enable them perform maximally.
