The human rights liberty access and peace defenders has called on the Delta State Government to come to the rescue of Deltans, following the present hard economy.
This was contained in a statement issued in Asaba over the weekend, which was made available to PERISCOPE NIGERIA, by comrade Anthony Asakitikpi, the South South zonal chairman of HURIDE.
Asakitikpi said, “The state government should try to regulate the over billing of Benin Electricity Distribution Company, transportation, high cost of food stuffs, over billing of government hospital and others through the various ministries and agencies.”
While urging for proper regulation HURIDE called for support for residents, “Deltans will be pushed to a tight corner. More also, all the elected and appointed aides to the governor and even well placed Deltans from the private sector should go back to their various Local Government Areas and wards to render assistance to the poor masses who are mostly affected with this harsh economy,” Asakitikpi added.
