Adequate security has been put in place at all the polling units conducting the ongoing Kano State House of Assembly rerun elections.
The rerun election is being conducted in three for Tsanyawa/Kunchi, Kura/Garun Mallam and Tofa/Rimin Gado constituencies.
Our correspondent who visited Kura local government area reports adequate security personnel were provided at the polling units while voters were casting their votes without any hindrance.
Recall that the state Police Commissioner, Usaini Gumel had warned troublemakers to stay clear of the re-run election venues as anyone who doesn’t have any business at election venues would be arrested.
In addition, carrying of all sorts of weapons during the rerun election will not be tolerated as only eligible voters screened by INEC will be allowed to vote.
Similarly, security operatives at the election venues were subjecting voters to thorough checking to ensure nobody brought any unwanted things within the voting areas.
At Auzunawa polling unit in Kurunsumau ward where there was large turn out of voters, armed policemen were seen controlling the crowd while eligible voters were casting their votes peacefully.
The story is the same in Tafasa polling unit under the Kurunsumau ward. The rerun election is also being conducted in Kosawa and Danhassan wards.
Reports from other affected local government areas indicated that the election was going on peacefully without hitches.
