Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has ordered the security agencies to ensure the arrest and prosecution of vigilant members in Gamkwe, along Mararaba Baisa in Donga Local Government, who killed Travellers coming from Benue State.

Our correspondent reports that travellers loaded in a 18-seater bus from Zaki Biam in Benue state, heading to Maihula, in Bali LGA of Taraba were attacked by Vigilant members in (Gamkwe), along Mararaba Baisa in Donga local government.

Recall that Taraba State Commissioner of Police, David Iloyanomon, had on Wednesday confirmed the discovery of seven corpses in connection to the attack, while the driver and the bus conductor escaped death during the attack with machete cut all round their bodies.

Reacting to the incident, Governor Kefas condemned the  attack and directed the security agents to ensure the arrest of the perpetrators.

In a press statement issued to journalists by the Commissioner for information and Re-orientation, Barrister Zainab Usman, also quoted the governor as consoling families of the victims.

The Governor also warned against groups or individuals taking laws Into their hands.
