The Gombe State Police Command, on Wednesday held a decoration ceremony to honour and decorate 19 newly promoted Superintendents of Police.

Our correspondent reports that the promotions were approved by the Police Service Commission following the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
According to a press statement issued on Thursday by the Deputy Public Relations Officer ASP Sharif Saad, during the ceremony, Commissioner of Police Hayatu Usman, lauded the newly promoted officers and charged them to continue giving their best in the discharge of their duties.

Usman noted that the decoration ceremony was a testament to the commitment of the Gombe State Police Command to recognise and reward excellence among its officers, encouraging them to strive for greater achievements in the service of the nation.

Usman was quoted to have said, “Promotions comes with added responsibilities. We urge you to uphold the highest standards of professionalism to secure the state and the country at large.”

In his response on behalf of the promotees, SP Rabiu Danjuma, expressed gratitude to the IGP for recommending them for promotion and to the Police Service Commission for approving their promotion.

He assured the Commissioner of Police that they would remain committed to their duties, working diligently to move the state forward and maintain peace and security.
