President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate to inform them of the appointment of Onwudiwe to replace Eke as the South-East nominee.
Tinubu formally requested the Senate to conduct the necessary screening and approval process for Ruby Onwudiwe, who has been nominated to join the board of directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
In his announcement on Wednesday, Senator Godswill Akpabio, President of the Senate, mentioned that the new nominee, serving as a replacement for the initial candidate from Abia State, Orum Kalu Eke, had to decline the nomination because of prior commitments at the World Bank and other financial organizations.
