The White Paper Drafting Committee on visitation panels to six tertiary institutions in Gombe State has submitted its report to government.
Submitting the report on Wednesday, the Chairman of the committee and the Attorney-General/ Commissioner of Justice Barrister Zubair Umar, appreciated the state government for finding them worthy of the assignment.

Umar said the committee upon inauguration heat the ground running working tirelessly to sieve through the six visitation reports explaining that findings showed certain common challenges that affect virtually all the institutions such as funding and governing boards issues.
He said the committee is submitting three volumes of report consisting of general recommendations, specific and peculiar matters relating to each of the institutions and appendixes.

Receiving the report on behalf of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, the Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Njodi, commended the chairman and the committee members for doing a thorough job assuring that government will soon commence implementation of the recommendations.

It could be recalled that Yahaya inaugurated the white paper drafting committee in December 2023 to look into the reports of the visitation panels to the six state-owned tertiary institutions with a view to identifying workable and actionable recommendations for short, medium and long term implementations.
The brief but historic event had the State Head of Civil Service Ahmed Abdullahi, Commissioners, Special Advisers, Permanent Secretaries and other top government officials in attendance.
