The Gombe State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Muhammad Bello, says no fewer than 800 personnel have been deployed to beef up security across the 11 Local Government Areas for a peaceful Easter celebration.
Bello on Thursday assured the people of the state of adequate security before, during and after the Easter celebration.
According to a press statement issued on his behalf by SC Saad Buhari, Public Relations Officer of the command, the officers and men deployed were drawn from the operations department; Counter Terrorism Unit, Disaster Management Unit Intelligence and Investigations Department.
“800 personnel have been deployed to beef up security across the state for a peaceful Easter celebration. The deployment include officers from Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear and Energy, Critical National Assets and Infrastructure protection Department, Anti Vandal Unit and Female Squad at the Command state headquarters,” the statement partly read.
Bello charged the personnel to be professional in the discharge of their duties, adding that “They should work with high sense of responsibility and utmost diligence. I wish the people of the state and the Christian faithful a happy Easter celebration.”
