Former Deputy Minority Whip in the Federal House of Representatives Binta Bello, is one of the recently unveiled names of 11 council bosses ahead of Local Government Areas election scheduled for April by Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission.

She was  represented Kaltungo/ Shongom Federal Constituency.

Recall that October 2023 Bello resigned her membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, after an unsuccessful attempt to represent Gombe South at the Senate in 2019 and failure to clinch the ticket for 2023 elections.

Our correspondent reports that the last time council poll held was on December 2020.

According to a press statement issued by the chapter on Tuesday which was obtained by our correspondent, the party said it’s drew the list after consensus with aspirants.

The statement party read, “As Gombe State gears up for the upcoming 2024 Local Government Councils Election to shape the future of governance at the grassroots level, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its slate of candidates for chairmanship and deputy chairmanship positions.

“The list, which emanated following a consensus process, was submitted to the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission ( GOSIEC) and duly signed by the APC Chairman, Nitte Amangal, and Secretary, Abubakar Umar S. Goro.

“It presents a lineup of individuals poised to lead their respective local government areas with vision and a commitment to progress in line with the development agenda of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya when given the mandate.”

While disclosing that its submission of candidates signifies a significant step in the democratic process in line with GOSIEC guidelines as parties prepare to engage voters, adding it would articulate  plans for development and service delivery.

Hon. Danladi Adamu ( Chairman)

Habib Hassan ( Deputy Chairman)

“Balanga Local Government 

Ibrahim Salisu ( Chairman)

Philemon Ezra ( Deputy Chairman)

“Billiri Local Government 

Mrs. Egla Idris ( Chairman)

Yila Maidawa ( Deputy Chairman) 

“Dukku Local Government 

Adamu Mohammed Waziri ( Chairman)

Umar Manu Malala ( Deputy Chairman)

“Funakaye Local Government 

Shu’aibu Abdulrahman ( Chairman)

Umaru Busum ( Deputy Chairman,” the statement said.

“The APC candidates for the forthcoming local government council election represent a diverse array of backgrounds and experiences, united by a shared commitment to advancing the interests of the people they seek to serve in the quest for a brighter future for Gombe State,” the statement added.
