…..says gesture is aimed at cushioning the effects of their losses
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has presented the sum of N250, 000 each to 15 individuals who lost their property at various times through fire disaster and other heart wrenching incidents.

Presenting the cash award to the beneficiaries Yahaya regretted the incidents that led to the loss of their property, stressing that his administration is committed to general welfare of the people of the state.

Represented by the Executive Secretary Gombe State Emergency Management Agency, Abdullahi Haruna Abdullahi, the governor encouraged the beneficiaries to view their losses as a disaster that could happen to anyone at anytime.

He explained that his administration deemed it necessary to assist the 15 individuals with the sum of N250,000 each owing to their promptness in reporting their losses to the State Emergency Management Agency.
“This money given to you is not in anyway a compensation to your lost property but to cushion the effect of your losses and tell you that your pain is equally my pain,” the governor said.

While praying to God to avert future occurrence of such an unfortunate incident, Yahaya called for absolute care and vigilance among citizens of the state as they handle inflammable material.
Responding, one of the beneficiaries Mrs Linda Ali, expressed gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for coming to their aid when they least expected, noting that the grant will assist her rebuilding process.
She said, “Of course I did reported the loss of my property to the State Emergency Management Agency but I never expected something positive will come out of it but here we are today, receiving N250,000, this is thing of joy and we thank the Governor of Gombe State.”
