Gombe State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Muhammad Bello, on Monday said no fewer than 850 officers and men have been deployed to ensure smooth Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
According to a press statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the command Buhari Sa’ad, which was obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA Bello issued the directive through an operational order for effective monitoring of the Eid-el-Fitr Celebration 9th to 11th April 2024.
The statement partly read, Gombe Commandant has ordered for the deployment of 850 officers and men to ensure a hitch-free 2024 Eid-el Fitr Sallah celebration in the state.
“Commandant Bello specifically, tasked all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, all Tactical Unit Commanders to emplace and ensure a robust security arrangement in all worship grounds for a hitch free worship.”
While wishing all Muslims Happy Sallah celebration and calling on members of the public to always be cautious and report any suspicious activity to the nearest security agency, Sa’ad’s statement further urged officers to protect lives and property of all citizens and visitors alike, before, during and after the Celebration, adding, “Protect all critical assets, both public and private. Maintain law and order throughout the State before, during and after the Eid-el Fitr celebration.”
