Gombe state Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has commiserated with the General Manager of the Nigeria Television Authority Gombe Station, Malam Abubakar Adamu, over the demise of his father, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Deba.
Periscope Nigeria reports that Deba died on Tuesday, at the age of 90 years after a brief illness.
In a condolence message, signed by Director-General Press Affairs Ismaila Misilli, Yahaya described the deceased as a disciplined father, family pillar and community leader who was always there for the people, offering guidance, wisdom, and inspiration until his death.
He recalled the deceased’s contributions and legacy of service, from his early days as a staff under Native Authorities, to rising to the position of local government treasurer, which the Governor noted, reflected a lifetime of commitment to duty.
He described Deba’s death as a great loss, not only for his immediate family but to the state as well.
