Yvonne Jegede has lambasted the producer of other side of life, saying not everyone should be a producer.
Jegede who is an ace entertainer disclosed that she rested her production following resources, adding that people could come together to run a production instead of paying people peanuts.
The 40-year-old mother disclosed that YouTube has made everyone a producer.
She said, “Everyone doesn’t have to have to be a producer. Who will take care of those that died left behind? Because of YouTube everyone now claims to be a producer. Since my last film I have not done another because I can’t beg the same person I begged in 2019 to collect what I had in 2021, 2022. I spent N6 million and I didn’t make it back and that was how I ended it. Now I do my skits and I post them because that is what I can afford”
While urging for more producers to contribute to tackle a project noted that it was doable insisting that not everyone can be Funke Akindele, who makes billions from cinema.
“We should give the producers who can do it, the needed space. Funke Akindele, has shown that we could make billions from cinema. Producers can come together and contribute maybe N2million each do you know how much they will get and it will be enough to produce a good movie that can be on Netflix and share the profit,” she added.
While decrying the last incident that led to the demise of Junior Pope, Abigail, Olanti, Precious and Friday while shooting movie for Adanma Luke, Jegede added, “You are shooting a YouTube job and you are carryinging across the sea, wetin una dey shoot? So if you wan shoot for Netflix, cinema you go carry them go space. Everyone is a producer gathering people to shoot for you we show do better there is no need for competition.”
