On the 25th of April 2024, dignitaries from various sectors of the society will gather at the NBA Hall on Leaf Road, Iyaganku, Ibadan, to celebrate the launching of Dr Adebola Ishola’s work, ‘Domestic Violence and Faith Integration in Nigeria’.
The event promises to be a convergence of intellectuals, spirituality, and societal advocacy, as luminaries including Bishop Francis Wale Oke, Alhaji Dahud Makanjuola Akinola (D-Damak), Justice Iyabo Yerima,Oyo CJ and others to grace the occasion.
Dr Adebola Ishola, the author of the groundbreaking book, holds a PhD in Political Science and Public Administration from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria. With a distinguished career spanning both public and private sectors, Dr. Ishola has served in notable capacities including the Policy Analysis Department of the Federal Ministry of Industry and the Nigeria Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER), Ibadan.
Throughout her career, Ishola has been committed to rigorous academic research and analysis, evident in her six publications in reputable journals. As a member of the Association of Public Administration Researchers (ASPAR) and the Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) Chicago, she brings a wealth of scholarly expertise to her exploration of the intersection between domestic violence and faith in Nigeria.
Joining Ishola at the launch are distinguished figures who embody leadership, advocacy, and faith. Bishop Francis Wale Oke, the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Revd. Emmanuel Olasupo Ajao, Associate General Overseer, New Covenant Church and Alhaji Dahud Makanjuola Akinola (D-Damak), a revered Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, Delta, and Aare of Ibadanland, will serve as Spiritual Fathers of the Day and Co-Launchers respectively, imparting their wisdom and spiritual guidance to the proceedings.
Justice Iyabo Yerima, the Oyo State Chief Judge, will preside over the event as Chairperson, lending her legal acumen and commitment to justice to the discussion of this crucial societal issue.
Additionally,Hon. Emmanuel Olusegun Olayiwola, the Honorable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, will extend the hospitality of the host city, Ibadan, to all attendees.
The book launch will feature insightful reviews by Ms. Abiola Abiade,an erudite scholar from the faculty of law,Lead City University, Ibadan while Messr Michael Olatunbosun of Splash FM Radio and Amos Akinlabi Ishola, a veteran journalist and media consultant will anchor the program.
With the line up of erudite scholars and notable spiritual figures attendees can expect engaging discussions, thought-provoking insights, and a collective commitment to addressing domestic violence within the context of faith and society.
