The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has on Wednesday, commissioned a road constructed by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, led administration and named after him in Gombe.
The 1.6-kilometer-long road stretches from GRA to the Gombe Southern By-pass, linking Nayi-Nawa, Kuwait, Bagadaza, Hammadu kafi, and Wuro Biriji communities in Akko local government, all densely populated areas within the Gombe metropolis.
During the project’s commissioning, the National Chairman of the APC, Ganduje, commended Governor Yahaya for his transformative governance in Gombe state, highlighting the significant progress the state has experienced under his leadership which he said is in line with the fundamental principles upon which the APC was formed.
“Today, we are in Gombe on the invitation of my brother, His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON, for a political function as regards the forthcoming Local Government Elections. To my delight, the Governor has graciously chosen to honour me by naming an important road after me which I am deeply grateful for.
“President Tinubu and the leadership of our party are very proud of the accomplishments of Governor Inuwa Yahaya. His outstanding leadership sets an example, bringing positive change to Gombe state. We are aware that through extensive infrastructure projects and welfare initiatives, the Governor consistently delivers on our party’s founding principles by improving the lives of the people of Gombe state,” Ganduje added.
The former Kano State Governor further remarked that the newly commissioned road would ameliorate the hardships faced by the benefitting, emphasising the potential of the road to enhance livelihoods and boost commercial activities within the areas.
He encouraged the entire people of Gombe state to continue to support the Inuwa Yahaya led administration to deliver effective governance through projects and policies aimed at improving their lives.
Earlier speaking, the Commissioner of Works, Housing and Transport, Engr. Maijama’a Kallamu, informed Governor Yahaya’s guest, Ganduje, and his team on the road named after him, explaining that it is part of the extensive road construction initiative, ‘Network 11-100’, aimed at building a minimum of 100 kilometers of roads in each of the state’s 11 local government areas.
