…..tasks field officers to maintain May 27 deadline
Reprieve will soon come to the people of Bauchi and Gombe States as efforts have been intensified towards the restoration of power supply to the areas.
The Management of Jos Electricity Distribution Plc last Saturday visited the location of the four vandalised towers to ascertain the degrees of reconstruction that have taken place.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Dr Friday Adakole, Head, Corporate Communications which was obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA.
The Jos Disco team which visited the sites of the four vandalised towers was led by the Chief Operating Officer, Alhaji Mamanlafia Umar, who represented the MD/CEO Engineer Abdu Bello Mohammed.
Mohammed at the end of the inspection visit lauded the Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria for working assiduously towards fixing the problems.
The statement partly stated, “I want to sincerely thank you on behalf of the MD/CEO of Jos Electricity Distribution Plc for the speed you have exhibited so far.”
He therefore urged the team to work towards meeting the deadline of 27th May 2024 for the completion of the repairs and restoration of normal supply to the good people of Bauchi and Gombe States, as committed to.
It will be recalled that about three weeks ago, four 330kV towers were vandalised by some unscrupulous elements thereby putting the entire Gombe and parts of Bauchi States in darkness.
The MD was accompanied on the visit by the company’s Chief Consultant, Engr John Emeruwa, the Acting Chief Commercial Officer, Engr Felix Shalzim, the Regional Manager, Bauchi Mr Rilwanu Shehu and his Yelwa counterpart, Mr Aliyu Abba.
