The 2023 Kano Bankers Forum Dinner/Award night an annual gathering of the banking sector in Kano held on 8th May, 2024 at Meena event centre Kano was as always a spectacular moment of celebration and networking.

Speaking at the event Alh. Umar Ibrahim Biu, Central Bank of Nigeria Kano State Branch Comptroller commended members of the financial institutions, he said ” During the previous year, Banking Services continued to dedicate itself to excellent service delivery, improved customer satisfaction and providing 21st Century banking solutions riding on the back of current technology.”

He went further to encourage the deposit money banks on the need for their maximum participation in the Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme emphasing on its impact to the state in greater agricultural development, food security and economic opportunities.

Deposit money banks such as Access Bank, Zenith Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank & Union Bank were awarded various categories of awards in appreciation to their commitment in the industry. An even greater excitement and celebration filled the air when an award of leadership excellence was presented to the Kano State Central Bank of Nigeria, Branch Comptroller Alh. Umar Ibrahim Biu, a clear attestation of a well deserved award.

The occasion was gracied by the Kano commissioner of police CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel dignitaries from within and out of Kano State.

Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf, Governor of Kano State represented by his Commissioner of Finance commended the CBN and other members of the financial institution for their contributions to the state while also pledging the readiness of the state government in further partnering with the apex bank and other commercial banks in going the state forward.”
