The National Assembly will convene a special joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of continuous democracy in the country.
The anticipated joint sitting at the Chamber of the House of Representatives is expected to be attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu along with other leaders, such as Governors and former leaders.
The President is anticipated to initiate the inauguration of the recently constructed National Assembly Library building, which will be named in his honor.
Abdulsalami Abubakar is scheduled to give a speech on “Contemplations of the pathway to democracy.”
The upcoming event will feature insights from distinguished guests including former Senate President David Mark, who will discuss the Senate’s progress, and former Speaker of the House and Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, who will share insights on the House’s journey thus far.
