Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has emphasised the importance of all parties honouring the decision of the Federal High Court requesting the preservation of the existing state of affairs in the ongoing dispute over the emirship between Aminu Ado Bayero, and Muhammadu Sanusi II.
Bauchi made this disclosure during a press conference held in Bauchi on Sunday, the Dahiru Bauchi Islamic Foundation.
He called upon Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to respect the recent ruling of the Federal High Court.
The ruling emphasised the importance of maintaining the existing state of affairs while the substantive case is still ongoing.
He said, “Nobody could rule or become a leader without adherence to the rule of law, so I am urging all those involved in the dispute to think outside the box for amicable settlement.
“In the interest of peace, we want justice to prevail; since the court intervenes to maintain law and order, we expect each party to respect the rule of law in the interest of peace.”
