The Gombe State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, on Sunday embarked on show of force in a bid to display men and officers determination to protect lives and critical infrastructures.

Commandant Muhammad Bello in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer SC Saad Buhari, disclosed that the show of force is a sequel to the directives of the Commandant General Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi, to all NSCDC formations.
Our correspondent reports that the show of force started from the command headquarters on a trek to Jekadafari , Abacha street down to London Doruwa.
Bello personally led the show of force of human and material assets in the State capital.

The statement quoted Commandant Bello saying, “The directives is for formations to provide tight security around critical assets and infrastructure to forestall any act of vandalism, breach of public peace , law and order against the planned # End bad governance Nationwide protest.”
While disclosing that the show of force was geared towards showing the command’s readiness and resolve to protect the public professionally at all times, called on the youths to shelve the protest and embrace peaceful paths of agitating their demands within the armpit of the law.

“The Command has equally, emplaced robust security measures and has deployed personnel adequately, across all critical assets to prevent any act of vandalism or violence in order to ensure safety and security of all in the state.
“The Corps, will work in synergy with other security and law enforcement agencies to maintain peace in the state,” Bello added.
