A Non-Governmental Organisation, Save the Children International, on Friday, presented 1,000 dignity kits to Adamawa Government for girls in public schools in the state.
Mr Ali Zuliqar, the Head of Education of the NGO, said during the presentation that the kits would help the girl-child in promoting personal hygiene in schools and learn more.
“The kits will cater for the needs of 1,000 people ,especially the girl-child and we are looking forward to bringing more to Adamawa,” he said.
According to him, the organisation is embarking on seven projects in the state to support nutrition, education and humanitarian activities.
Dr Garba Pella, the commissioner for Education, who received the kits on behalf of the state government, appreciated the NGO for the donation.
“on behalf of Adamawa government, we appreciate the partners for the support of 1,000 dignity kits for our girl-child.
“We appreciate and hope that this partnership will continue to be beneficial to our people,” he said.
He assured the people that the state government would ensure that the kits were distributed to those intended.
