No fewer than three persons have been nab by the Borno State Police command over drug peddling.

Parading the suspects Commissioner of Police Yusufu Lawal, who was represented by Kenneth Daso, disclosed that they were nabbed during stop and search.

The Commissioner said, “On the 14th July, 2024 Police patrol team attached to Gwange Police Division, while on a snap stop and search operation at Gwange Ward arrested three suspects Abubakar Adam of Ngomari Costine area of Maiduguri in possesion of 28 pieces of exole tablets, Abba Mantrab of Gwange Sabon Gari area Maiduguri in possession of 47 wraps of dried leave suspected to be Indian Hemp and Abubakar Mustapha of Gwange Sabon Layi in possession of 154 pieces of D5 tablet and 130 wraps of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. Case will be charged to court after investigation.”

Lawal reassured the public of commitment of the police command in the discharge of its primary statutory duties at ensuring sustainable peace in the state, “as part of the wider objective of Borno Restoration,” he added.
