Amidst cheers from eminent personalities, traditional title holders, political gladiators and well-wishers, Gombe State Commissioner for Water, Environment and Forest Resources, Mohammed Saidu Fawu, was formally presented with a letter of appointment and conferment as the Turakin Tangle on Monday.
The letter which was presented by a high-powered delegation led by the Secretary of the council, Dr Adamu Idi Kofur, on behalf of His Royal Highness Sanusi Danladi Maiyamba iv Mai Tangle of Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the title of Turaki is only given to individuals who have distinguished themselves as a strong personality, noble character with an evident track record of achievements with immense contribution to the progress and development of the Tangle chiefdom. Hence, the choice of Fawu.
Fawu in his acceptance speech expressed gratitude to God, Mai Tangle and members of the Tangle Traditional Council for finding him worthy of the noble title.
The brand new Turakin Tangle thereafter, assured the delegation from the Mai Tangle of his commitment and unequivocal zeal to further contribute to the progress and development of Tangle chiefdom, Billiri Local Government, Gombe State and Nigeria as a whole.
The Gombe State Head of Civil Service; Alhaji Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, who is the Katukan Birin Bolewa, while delivering his goodwill message highlighted noble and worthy qualities of the Commissioner, stating that he is qualified, befitting of the title of Turaki based on the good leadership qualities and zeal for community service which he has showcased so far since his appointment as Commissioner and member of the Gombe State Executive Council.
He urged the Turakin Tangale to continue to live up to expectations of his new title which is a call for community service.
Also Speaking the Chairperson Billiri LGA Hon. Egla Idris, who is also the Jakadiyar Tangale appreciated the Tangle Traditional Council for finding Fawu worthy of the title.
She wished him well on his additional responsibility while urging him to continue in the path of ensuring that Tangle Chiefdom and Billiri LGA reaps more dividends of democracy that would be beneficial to all
Present during the presentation of letter of appointment and conferment were the Permanent Secretaries of Water Resources Danladi Adamu, Establishment and Service Matters Suleiman Kwami, Project Coordinator ACReSAL Dr Sani Jauro, Directors and staff of the ministry.
