United States Agency for International Development State Accountability, Transparency, and Effectiveness, State2State Activity has organised training on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion.








PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that S2S supports states to plan and budget, raise revenues, increase civil society participation, and oversee service delivery in Health, Education, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene sectors by building relevant capacities.
Speaking, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Specialist, Adetayo Apasa, reflected on the gender balance in government implementation of projects, and activities for mainstream intervention on governance in partner states.

Apasa identified the challenges involved in implementation and the best ways in solving them into possible points for sustainable action plans in the future.
Earlier, Team Lead of S2S, Gombe field office, Muhammad Bello, shared the successes of USAID’s intervention in the state.


He enumerated the successes to include increased efficiency of focal Local Government Areas in governance operations leading to a vast community development.
Bello noted that the support of S2S to Gombe State has improved the Public Finance Management by enhancing the performance of Ministries, Departments and Agencies in service delivery, excellent budgeting process and increased Internal Generated Revenue.
Our correspondent gathered that participants discussed processes of mainstreaming GESI in MDAs and LGAs, as well as successes, results, gaps and challenges.
They also mapped out how actions will be taken towards ensuring sustainability, also ways of communicating and reporting progress, issues.
