Some angry protesters on Thursday pelted stones at the Gombe State Government House, while the rest caused havoc at the Jekadafari axis of Gombe Local Government Area.
Recall that on Tuesday Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, had meeting with critical stakeholders, where they assured that they will not participate.

Yahaya had urged interested protesters to register with commissioner of police, following the Inspector General of Police’s order.
Confirming the breakdown of law and order the Police Public Relations Officer ASP Buhari Abdullahi said “The situation is under control. We are managing the situation the situation now is relatively calm. We are trying to talk to talk to them so that they can consider dialogue.”

Asked why the protest in Gombe turned violent Abdullahi added, “As you know it’s everywhere but the commissioner of police is on ground and other security heads are on ground managing the situation.”
