The Security and Civil Defence Corps, Borno State Command, has apprehended 39 suspects in connection with various crimes, including vandalism, theft, looting, and terrorism.


This was contained in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer
SC Bulus James, on Wednesday.
According to James, “the suspects have confessed to their alleged crimes and will be charged to court following preliminary investigations.”
He disclosed that during the recent nationwide protest, “19 suspects were arrested for their involvement in violence, vandalism, and looting. Some suspects were found in possession of foreign flags, which may be considered a treasonable offence,” the statement added.
He noted that an explosion was reported near his command’s stressing that “investigations revealed it was an IED. A suspect, Modu Mallam, was arrested and handed over to the Nigerian police for further action. Additionally, a suspect was arrested for supplying logistics to insurgents in the bush.”
While expressing gratitude to Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, the statement also conveyed the appreciation of the command to residents for their cooperation and vigilance, “CC Musa Farouk Boyi, calls on citizens to support security agencies with useful information to prevent criminality. He also expressed gratitude to Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, the Governor of Borno State, for his support,” the statement added.
