…..harps on need for computers, smartphones
The Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency has urged healthcare providers to ensure they are equipped with smartphones and computers.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the equipment are essential for streamlining the agency’s operational processes and improving response times to patients’ needs.
This call was made by the Agency’s Team Lead, Dr Abubakar Musa, during the sixth GoHealth Provider Forum held at Custodian Hotel.
Musa announced that GoHealth is set to deploy digital platforms for the payment and assessment of claims. “In the next one or two months, we will be launching our digital claims systems, and you will no longer need to submit claims manually,” he revealed.
He expressed concern over the reluctance of some facility managers to complete their online encounter data and the failure to assign desk officers to utilise the data tools effectively.
He emphasised that the new ICT platform for claims would enforce accurate data entry by linking primary encounter data with service requests and authorization codes for secondary services.
“Everything will be interconnected,” Dr. Musa explained. “Your primary encounter data must be linked to the request, and the authorization code will be linked to the secondary service provided. Moving forward, you will have no choice but to equip your facilities with Android phones and computers.”
He urged facility managers to proactively train their staff to be IT-compliant and to invest in the necessary tools to ensure smooth integration with GoHealth’s digital systems.
