Following the transfer of Federal Road Safety Corps Commander Felix Theman to the Corps National Headquarters Abuja, a new Sector Commander, Samson Kaura, on Monday assumed office in Gombe State.

Kaura was appointed sector commander since 21st July, 2024, to lead Gombe State command.
He hails from Tafawa Balewa in Bauchi State, Nigeria, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and a Master of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

Commander Kaura had served as the Zonal Head Operations in the Bauchi Zonal Command, Bauchi State. He was also the Corps Commander Youth Safety Education in the Training Department National Headquarters Abuja, before his appointment.
He is married with children, sports enthusiast. Kaura plays football.

This was contained in press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer Janet Kassa, speaking shortly after assumption of office, Kaura thanked the people of Gombe for the warmth reception given to him, recognising the effort of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, for his exemplary roles, “and for making Gombe a serene environment, Jewel in the Savannah,” he said.
Kaura appealed to residents to join hands with him, adding “to make our roads safer for the motoring public and to achieve zero per cent road traffic crash.”
He said, “I want to call on the stakeholders’ to sustain the good working relationship already established,” calling on sister security agencies for better collaboration and focus towards the achievement of the Corps strategic goals.
