Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, on Tuesday, emphasised the importance of collective efforts between civil servants and political office holders to build a shared vision for the state’s development.

He made this statement while declaring open a two-day retreat organised by the state government for civil servants and political office holders in Jalingo.
The governor urged participants to focus and produce the desired results after the retreat, noting that his administration is committed to globalising Taraba.
According to Kefas, building a collective vision would present ideas that would drive the state forward in the global landscape of development.
“The essence of this retreat is for you to share ideas and build a collective vision on how Taraba State can be positioned in the global landscape,” he said. “We are moving forward in a rapidly changing world, and it is essential for us to address certain issues and develop strategies to navigate these challenges.”
Kefas emphasised the need for leaders and public servants to equip themselves with knowledge, skills, and vision to meet the demands of governance in a dynamic environment. He encouraged participants to engage fully in discussions, work together, and maintain integrity, accountability, and service.
The governor lamented the era when civil servants were excluded from developmental initiatives and decision-making processes, which would have placed Taraba on the global landscape of development. He encouraged participants to approach the retreat with open minds and commitment, focusing on progress and upholding principles of integrity, accountability, and service.
Guest speaker Kanu Agabi (SAN) advised Governor Kefas to build structures that would define physical development in Taraba. Agabi also urged civil servants to maintain a culture of integrity and service, resisting corrupt practices.
Earlier, Mr Tino Paul Maigida, Head of Civil Service, Taraba State, disclosed that the event was the second of its kind within the shortest time of Governor Kefas’ administration. Maigida pledged the cooperation of civil servants to ensure an incredible outcome of the mission to globalise Taraba, saluting Governor Kefas for prioritising civil service reform and redefining governance.
