The Gombe State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists has announced their endorsement of Alhassan Yahya for the upcoming election of the union. As a show of support and confidence in his leadership abilities, the council also picked nomination form on his behalf.

According to the State Chairman of the union, Faruk Mu’azu, Alhassan is known for his dedication to the field of journalism and his commitment to the betterment of the NUJ, hence his consideration as a strong deserving candidate for leadership positions within the organisation.
Speaking during the presentation of the nomination form, Faruk, stated that Alhassan’s experience and passion for the industry make him a fitting choice for the role.
He said, “Comrade Alhassan’s dedication to the profession and his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of journalism in Nigeria make him an exemplary candidate for this position. His leadership skills, vision, and passion for the union’s progress are undeniable.”
“As we present this nomination form, we affirm our confidence in Comrade Alhassan’s ability to lead the NUJ to greater heights. We believe in his capacity to unite, inspire, and empower journalists across the country. This momentous occasion is a testament to the trust and faith we have in Comrade Alhassan’s leadership. We invite you all to join us in this celebration and to support him on this noble journey,” Faruk stated.
Reacting, Alhassan Yahya,appreciated the state council for the show of support and commitment. While commending all chapels and members of the union in Gombe, he assured that his candidacy is for betterment of the union and all members.
Speaking further, Yahya who was a former two-time council chairman, erstwhile the zonal vice president , North-East and currently occupies the position of the National Deputy President added, “I rose through the union’s ladder, I know the union and I know what is needed in the union. If elected, we will introduce plans and take measures that will benefit journalists, especially in the area of training, welfare and insurance premiums.”
