Commandant Gyama Gyawiya, has taken the reins as the 13th State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Gombe State Command, succeeding Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu.
Muazu’s departure comes after his promotion to Assistant Commandant General by Commandant General Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer Saad Buhari, which was obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA.
“I’m honoured to take on this new role,” said Commandant Gyawiya. “As the new State Commandant, I will continue to uphold the NSCDC’s mission of protecting lives, properties, and critical national infrastructure.”
Gyawiya noted that he is well-equipped to lead the NSCDC Gombe State Command stressing that the Corps will maintain its focus on protecting lives and property, “Ensuring the safety and security of citizens in Gombe State. Maintaining law and order, Collaborating with other security agencies to prevent and respond to security threats as well as promoting peace and stability in order to address emerging security challenges and fostering a peaceful environment,” he assured.
Speaking further Gyawiya disclosed that NSCDC remains committed to serving the people of Gombe State, saying “Corps is poised to tackle emerging security challenges and promote peace and stability in the state.”
