The Alhassan Yahya, and Abimbola Oyetunde Campaign Council, also known as A+A has mourned the loss of Alhaja Wulemot Aweni-Babalola, the mother of their Director-General, Ademola Babalola.

Babalola is the Chairman of the Oyo Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists.

PERISCOPE NIGERIA recalls that Alhassan and Abimbola are gunning for the posts of President and Deputy President of NUJ this November, in Owerri, Imo State.

The council expressed shock and sadness at her passing, acknowledging the immense void she left behind.

The council also urged the family to continue her good work, praying  Almighty Allah to grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

This was contained in a condolence message signed on Sunday by Kenneth Ofoma, Secretary General of the A+A Campaign Council, on behalf of Yahya and Oyetunde.

The statement partly read, “We are mere mortals. We feel the pain. We fill the void and the vacuum her departure has created.

“There is no doubt that the family, community and society in general will miss her motherly role, companionship and wise counsels at critical times.

“But we take solace in the fact that Mama Babalola, ran her race creditably and left legacies of moral virtue, hard work, honesty, religious piety and community service.”

The statement added that Aweni-Babalola was a highly respected figure, known for her moral virtues, hard work, honesty, and dedication to community service, adding that her legacy will be deeply missed by the family, community, and society at large.

“We task the family to sustain those legacies as we pray Almighty Allah to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. We extend our condolences to the Oyo State Council of NUJ.

“The A+A Campaign Council sincerely prays Almighty Allah to grant her soul favourable judgement and reward her good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus,” the statement added.
