A Gombe man, Shamsuddeen Garba, also known as ‘Dan Small’, who recently trended for embarking on a journey to Abuja from Gombe State on bicycle has received a car gift and the sum of N700,000 for the feat.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the gift was given to him by the Deputy National Financial Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Kumo Dattuwa.
Shamsuddeen had embarked on a challenging journey from Gombe to Abuja, covering approximately 548 kilometres on a bicycle.
In an interview with our correspondent on Thursday, the cyclist explained that the journey was to show his support to the APC deputy National Financial Secretary for his leadership qualities and philanthropic gestures in the state.
The cyclist, who also called on Dattuwa to contest the gubernatorial seat of the state in 2027, said, “he has good political potential and qualities to lead the state aright.”
Imrana Haruna, a political associate of Dattuwa, who presented the gifts to Shamsuddeen on behalf of Dattuwa, said, “The gifts were meant to appreciate Shamsuddeen’s adventures and perseverance.”
