The recent load shedding experienced in Bauchi, Benue, Plateau, and Gombe states has been attributed to limited power supply from the national grid.
According to Dr Friday Elijah, Head of Corporate Communications Jos Electricity Distribution Company the daily allocation dropped to 90MW daily for its four franchise states.
“Our daily allocation within this period was dropped to 90MW daily for our four franchise states of Bauchi, Benue, Plateau, and Gombe. This has necessitated us to embark on load shedding of our customers in all our areas of operations in an equitable manner pending improvement in supply from the national grid,” Dr Elijah explained.
He disclosed that the load shedding was implemented to manage the limited power supply, stressing an equitable distribution among customers.
Elijah reassured customers that full supply would resume once the Transmission Company of Nigeria completes repairs on the faulty 330kV Ugwuaji-Makurdi transmission line.
“We urge our customers not to despair as we hope to give you full supply as soon as TCN is able to complete the repair works on the remaining faulty 330kV Ugwuaji-Makurdi transmission line,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to customers for their understanding and support during this challenging period. “We thank you for your understanding and support as we strive to serve you better,” he added.
The company disclosed that its staff is working closely with the TCN to resolve the issue and restore normal power supply to the affected states.
