Taraba State Government, through the Taraba State Youth Development Agency, has set Thursday, July 20th, 2026 to disburse the total of N150 million to 300 young entrepreneurs in the state.
Hon. Gara Nongha, Chairman of the agency disclosed this during a one-day training and capacity building programme for beneficiaries in Jalingo, saying that 300 young entrepreneurs were selected across 180 council worlds of the state as directed by governor Agbu Kefas.
According to the chairman, the governor’s decision to empower the entrepreneurs is ensure they grow to become self- reliance, and employers of labour.
Hon. Nongha also informed that, a one year moratorium will be given to beneficiaries, while monitoring evaluation team will regularly supervise the beneficiaries’ activities.
“Beneficiaries who will be diligent and able to excel in their businesses within one year, the state government will consider their disbursement as a grant, while those who fail will payback the money as a loan,” the agency chairman warned.
“With the directive of governor Agbu Kefas, we have taken data of young entrepreneurs across all council worlds; Our target is to train and empower them to become employers of labour.

“In the first phase, 300 entrepreneurs are captured for disbursement tomorrow, Thursday, 20th July 2026, while the second phase will commence in November this year. Each beneficiary will be given the sum of 500,000 to boost their businesses and further impact lives,”Hon. Gara added.
Meanwhile, Chief GT kataps, Secretary to the Government of the State, Taraba, urged beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the funds to impact generation.
Chief Kataps assured that government will sustain the gesture for beneficiaries that may excel in their businesses within one year.
“The money is not for marriages. You are to improve your businesses and impact others. Whoever that do well will not payback; his money will be consider as a grant, but if you fail, you will payback the money after one year of these disbursement,” the SGS stated.
