A socio-cultural organisation, Kwagam Tangle, in partnership with Thrive Wellspring for Sustainable Development Initiative, has reached out to support victims of a recent herdsmen attack in Powishi Kalmai, Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State.
The group visited the affected community and donated financial assistance to help alleviate the suffering of those affected. This gesture comes amidst efforts by the Gombe State Government to address the recurring herdsmen attacks in the state.

He said their efforts which is been supported by the NGO thrive Wellspring Initiative is part of the mandate embarked upon to cater for the well-being and development of the people of Tangale.
He therefore commended government for prompt response and intervention during the unfortunate incident.

He said though the attacks are not peculiar to Tangale alone yet no effort has been made to arrest the actors and make them to face the full wrath of the law.
He therefore prayed and sympathised with the community as he urged them to be vigilant and security conscious of happenings in their area.
Programme Manager of thrive Wellspring Development Initiative, David Sobok said each victim received cash of N20,000 to enable them rebuild their houses, “though it’s small compared to the huge loss incurred during the skirmish,” he added.
He said more interventions will be extended even as he praised efforts done so far by the government.
In their remarks the representative of the village head and chairman of the palliative committee, Mr Augustine katty, thanked the two groups for responding promptly to their distress situation and promised to judiciously deliver their donations to the right persons.
