As the festive season approaches, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Gombe State Command, on Friday said its had intensified security measures to ensure a peaceful and joyful Christmas and New Year celebration for residents and visitors.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Public Relations Officer SC Buhari Saad, the deployment is in a proactive move to prevent crime and maintain law and order.

The statement partly read, “The Command has deployed 850 officers and men across the state, covering all 11 local government areas. The deployment focuses on critical locations such as places of worship, motor parks, recreational centers, and critical assets both public and private.”
The deployed personnel are drawn from specialised units, including the Operations Department, Special Weapons and Tactics Unit, Counter Terrorist Unit, and the Intelligence Department.
The statement emphasised Commandant, CC Gyama Gyawiya’s emphasis on robust collaboration with other security agencies to ensure a hitch-free celebration, encouraging residents to cooperate with security personnel and report suspicious activities.
“The safety and security of our citizens is our top priority. We urge everyone to remain vigilant, celebrate with moderation, and report any security concerns to NSCDC or sister security agencies.
“Key security measures include enhanced patrols in residential areas, increased presence at places of worship, shops, and recreational centers, monitoring of strategic highways, and intelligence gathering and surveillance.
“I wish everyone a happy Christmas and New Year celebration. Let’s work together to maintain peace and security in the State. We are committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable festive season,” the statement partly read.
