The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Gombe State Command, on Friday announced that it will be conducting a range classification exercise for its personnel this Saturday.

PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the exercise is geared towards authenticating condition of arms as well proficiency in its handling by officers.
Regular range classification is expected to reduce level of accidental discharges and inefficiency in service.
According to a public announcement issued by SC Buhari Saad, Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Gombe State Command, which was obtained by our correspondent.
The statement partly read, “We wish to notify the general public and especially all those living/farming within the area and passersby not to panic, as adequate safety measures have been put in place.”
He disclosed that the exercise will take place from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Malete area, Old Liji Road, urging residents not to panic that the exercise is “a routine training activity aimed at enhancing the skills and competence of its personnel,” Saad added.
