Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed sadness over the death of the Village Head of Kalaring and father to Dr Obed Paul Shehu, member representing Kaltungo/ Shongom Constituency the late Baba Reverend Paul Shehu, and that of late Alhaji Atiku Mu’azu.
Yahaya described the death of the illustrious sons of Kaltungo chiefdom as a huge loss not only to the Maidom but to the state and country as a whole.
Represented by a high-powered government delegation led by the Secretary to Government of the State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Gombe State Governor told the grieving family of the late village head to take solace in the fact that death is inevitable to all mortals.
He described the late village head as humble and forthright who often exhibited decency, dedication and determination during his time as an Agriculture Extension Officer and Christian cleric.
Yahaya, however, prayed the Almighty God to grant the family of the decease the fortitude to bear the great loss.
At the family compound of the late Atiku Mu’azu (Muradin Kaltungo) the governor expressed grief over the death of the seasoned administrator, describing the circumstances surrounding his untimely death as even more painful.
He enjoined the family of the deceased and sympathisers alike to be comforted in the fact that the late Atiku Mu’azu, lived a fulfilled and exemplary life worthy of emulation.
The entourage were equally at the family compound of Mr Benjamin Dala (Sassakawa) to commiserate with him over the death of his dear wife late Lucy Benjamin, who died at the age of 58 years after a brief illness at the FTH Gombe.
In their separate responses to the visit, the representative of the family of the late Atiku Mu’azu,Yusuf Ahmadi, the acting Village Head of Kalaring Mr Ayuba Shehu Paul and Barrister Japheth Maidah, all express their gratitude to governor Yahaya for identifying with them at their moment of grief.
They noted that by sending such a high Government delegation the Governor has demonstrated leadership where it matters most.
Among the government delegation were; Mohamed Dantata Ndus, Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Government & Community Development; the Permanent Secretary Youth & Sports Development Modi Shelpidi, and DG/ Perm Sec. Bureau of Public Service Reforms Abubakar Hassan.
Special prayers were offered for the repose of the deceased and their families for God comfort.
