The Gombe State High Court has adjourned a land dispute case between Emir General Integrated Limited and Grandscope Construction Limited until February 17, 2025.
Presiding Judge Justice Fatima Musa announced the new date during proceedings on Thursday.
According to Barrister Sulaiman Abdurrahim, counsel for the applicant, the case involves disputes over land encroachment. Emir General Integrated Limited is seeking legal redress against Grandscope Construction Limited for allegedly trespassing on its property without authorisation.
The court had previously restrained Grandscope Construction Limited from entering or commencing construction on the disputed property, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.
Barrister Abdurrahim noted that the court order prohibits the defendant, “its agents, workmen, laborers, employers, or representatives from further entering the property or erecting structures,” he added.
Counsel for the defendant, Barrister Garba Subi, welcomed the adjournment, stating that it would provide ample time to thoroughly study the case.
