Former Senate President and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Adolphus Wabara, has criticised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his recent remarks, describing them as lacking decorum and respect.

Wike, during a live television interview, reportedly said that if Wabara were his father, he would have disowned him.

He also accused the former Senate President of being unfit for his position and referenced corruption allegations during Wabara’s tenure.

Reacting to the comments, Wabara, a former Number Three Citizen of Nigeria, expressed disappointment at Wike’s conduct.

Wabara stated, “I expect someone of his calibre to exercise restraint and respect the position he holds as a Minister of the Federal Republic and a former Governor. It is disgraceful for a supposed man of honour to speak without decorum.

“Nigerians know those who are corrupt. I, Adolphus Wabara, can proudly say that I am not corrupt,” he added.

Wabara urged Wike to mind his words, avoid making disparaging comments, and respect elders and facts in public discourse, likening Wike’s remarks to “gibberish from a broken water pipe.”
