The DSS Road, a crucial link between Orlu Road and Onitsha Road in Imo State, has been fully reconstructed and is now open to the public.
According to Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, Senior Special Assistant to Imo State Governor on Electronic and Creative Media, in a post on his verified Facebook timeline said the road was previously in a dilapidated state and impassable.
Governor Hope Uzodimma, who inspected the project, expressed his delight at its completion. “The #PeoplesGovernor is committed to transforming the state’s road network, and this project is a testament to that,” Nwaogwugwu said.
He disclosed that the newly constructed dual carriageway features a comprehensive drainage system and solar-powered streetlights, ensuring durability, safety, and enhanced connectivity for residents and businesses, adding “Notably, the project was completed within the stipulated contractual time, reflecting the administration’s commitment to efficiency and timely delivery of infrastructure projects.”
He added that Imolites have praised Governor Uzodimma for his efforts in transforming the state’s road network, which has improved connectivity and eased the movement of goods and services. “His dedication to infrastructural development continues to foster economic growth and enhance the ease of doing business across the state,” Nwaogwugwu said.

Nwaogwugwu noted that Governor Uzodimma’s visionary leadership has earned him widespread praise, “with many acknowledging the positive impact of his administration’s infrastructure projects on the state’s economy and residents,” he added.
