Gombe State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps, Chinwe Nwachuku, on Thursday praised 1,268 batch A stream I corps members deployed to the state for completing their service year.

Nwachuku added that 16 others will face disciplinary actions, while 21 are to be remobilised for varying offences.

 

 

The coordinator made this disclosure in her farewell speech at the zonal office during a low-key passing out ceremony which was obtained by our correspondent in Gombe State.

 

 

“1,268 batch A stream I corps members are passing out; those with disciplinary cases are 16 and 21 for remobilisation,” she said.

 

 

While lauding the 1,268 corps members Nwachuku added, “My Dear Compatriots of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream I service year, I heartily salute you for the successful completion of your sojourn in Gombe State for the one-year mandatory national service to the nation and humanity at large.I am filled with great joy and very proud of all you have accomplished during the service year. May all your sacrifices and selfless services to the socio-economic development of the nation, be rewarded and as you step out in grand style to greater heights, we return profound gratitude to Almighty God for granting you the courage to scale through it all.”

 

 

 

 

According to the coordinator, Posterity will forever remember them for contributing their quota to nation building through positive impacts in their host communities through education, health, agricultural sectors and community development service projects.

 

 

Nwachuku added, “You have equally learnt valuable lessons about the culture, custom and tradition of the people of Gombe State. which I hope will bring about the desired rebirth, national integration and unity, Nigeria craves for.

 

“As you prepare to move on to the next level of your lives, I encourage you to take with you the trainings, skills, education, and knowledge you have acquired in different capacities during the service year and apply them to your future endeavours. Most importantly, embrace the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme, it will gainfully engage you and provide you with a sense of livelihood. Whether you decide to further your education, pursue a career, or start your own business, I am confident that you will make a difference in your respective fields.

 

“I also sincerely acknowledge the productive relationships you have established in the course of the service year amongst yourselves, members of your host communities and others. Keep the relationships safe and sustained. It will help to break down cultural barriers and foster understanding yielding positive growth and development. You have truly become ambassadors of the Scheme in unity, peace, and progress.”
