Assalamu Alaikum !

I want to use this medium share more lights to you Mr. President and all concern GSU ALUMNI:

An alumni association is an organization composed of former students, also known as alumni or alums, who have attended a particular educational institution, such as a university, college, or high school. The primary purpose of an alumni association is to foster a sense of community and connection among former students, as well as between the alumni and their alma mater.

Goals and Objectives:

1. Networking: Provide opportunities for alumni to connect with each other, share experiences, and build professional relationships.

Buhari Magaji, GSU Alumni President

2. Career Development: Offer resources, mentorship, and support to help alumni advance in their careers.

3. Community Engagement: Organize events, activities, and volunteer opportunities that promote social responsibility and community involvement.

4. Fundraising: Support the alma mater through fundraising efforts, scholarships, and other initiatives.

5. Lifelong Learning: Provide access to continuing education, workshops, and seminars that promote personal and professional growth.

Benefits:

1. Professional Networking: Expand career opportunities and connect with influential professionals in various industries.

2. Mentorship: Receive guidance and support from experienced alumni who can offer valuable advice and insights.

3. Career Advancement: Access job opportunities, career counseling, and professional development resources.

4. Social Connections: Reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and be part of a community that shares similar experiences and values.

5. Giving Back: Contribute to the alma mater’s growth and success through volunteering, fundraising, or mentoring.

In this regard: To share more lights, some of the the above mentioned points, in respect of GSU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION “reverse is the case” HISTORICALLY.

Negative Effects:

1. Fragmentation: Sectional alumni (eg: Internal/external/Academics and non academics) Associations can create fragmentation within the larger alumni community, potentially leading to a sense of disconnection and isolation.

2. Inequitable distribution of resources: If not managed carefully, sectional alumni associations might focus resources on their specific section, potentially neglecting the needs of other sections or the university as a whole.

3. Competition: Sectional alumni associations might compete with each other for resources, attention, or prestige, potentially creating unhealthy rivalries.

4. Bureaucratic challenges: Managing multiple sectional alumni associations can create bureaucratic challenges for universities, potentially leading to inefficiencies and conflicts.

To mitigate these negative effects, universities and alumni associations can establish clear guidelines, communication channels, and collaborative frameworks to ensure that sectional alumni associations work together towards the common goal of supporting the university and its community…To be continued Historically, INSHA_ALLAH.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND UNDERSTANDING !!!
