Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has commended the state’s contingent for their outstanding performance at the 39th National Qur’an Recitation Competition held in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State.
Rumaisa’u Dahir Ibrahim secured first place in the female first category (Tafsir & Qira’at), while Nuhu Mohammed achieved second place in the Male first category (Tafsir & Qira’at).
The governor acknowledged the contributions of parents, teachers, and the State Qur’an Recitation Competition Committee, saying, “Your guidance, mentorship, and unwavering support have been instrumental in shaping these individuals into the exemplary champions we celebrate today.”
He said, “We are proud of our sons and daughters who have brought exceptional pride and honor to our state.
“Their accomplishments are a testament to their dedication, passion for the Holy Qur’an, and the value our state places on sound education.”
The governor praised their hard work, discipline, and faith, saying, “This victory was not a coincidence; it was the result of relentless hard work, discipline, and faith.”
Governor Yahaya also announced gifts for the winners, including a Hajj seat for Rumaisa’u Dahir Ibrahim, 1 million naira for Nuhu Mohammed, and 500,000 naira each for the other four winners. Additionally, he donated 2 million naira to the Gombe State Quranic Recitation Committee.
He urged the youth to emulate the exemplary efforts of the contingent, saying, “Let the accomplishments of this contingent inspire you to pursue excellence in all your endeavours.”
