…as govt delegation presenting appointment letters completes visit to emirates and chiefdoms in the state
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of new District and Village Heads in Dadiya, Tula, and Kaltungo Chiefdoms to fill the vacancies created by the death of their predecessors.



The visit to the three chiefdoms marked the conclusion of the presentation of the recently approved appointments to refill the vacancies resulting from the passing of the previous office holders.
The Deputy Governor, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, who led the delegation, urged the newly appointed chiefs to take their responsibilities seriously and assist their paramount rulers and the government in alleviating some of the workloads associated with the offices.

He emphasised the significance of lower chiefs in resolving minor administrative issues and forwarding more complex matters to their superiors.
He also reminded the chiefs of their duty to ensure the security of lives, property, and the environment for the overall well-being of their communities.
The governor stressed that most environmental hazards like drought, windstorm and degradation are caused by indiscriminate cutting of trees there by making it a point of duty for the traditional rulers to support the administration in ensuring that the bad habits does not continue.

He further encouraged residents of riverine areas to engage in dry season farming, complementing the wet season harvests to support food security and promote sustainable development.
In his remarks, the Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, explained that the appointment of the new district and village heads followed the submission of three candidates by the paramount rulers to the governor. The appointments were made after a thorough background check on their activities, lifestyles, and connections.

He announced the appointment of two District Heads and three Village Heads in Dadiya, one Village Head in Tula, and one Village Head in Kaltungo.called on the newly appointed chiefs to offer full support and loyalty to their superior rulers, stressing that loyalty is essential. He warned that any breach of loyalty would not be tolerated by the government.

The chairmen of Balanga, Alh. Salisu Ibrahim, Kaltungo, Mr Iliya Suleiman, and Shongom, Mrs Binta Fatima Bello, expressed their gratitude to the governor for filling the vacancies left by the deceased office holders.
They also thanked the governor for responding to the people’s needs and transforming the state, pledging their unwavering support.
Responding in their palaces, the Mai Kaltungo, Engr. Saleh Mohammad, the Folo Dadiya, Alh. Abdulkadir Abubakar Galadima III, and the Mai Tula, Abubakar Buba Atare II, praised the government for its responsiveness to the needs of the people. They pledged continued support for the administration and urged their subjects to do the same.
The Mai Tula also expressed gratitude to the governor for his appointment as Chairman of the State Task Force on “Gombe Goes Green” and promised to justify the trust placed in him.
The members of the delegation include the Commissioner for local government, Alh. Abdulkadir Mohammed Waziri, Executive Secretary, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Alh.Hassan Sa’ad, and Director, Special Services, Political and Chieftaincy Affairs, Bala Sarki.
At Dadiya the member representing Balanga South, Isaac Lamido,and Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Col. Abdullahi Bello ( rtd) while at Tula the delegation was joined by Majority Leader and member representing Kaltungo East, and Commissioner for Agric and Animals Husbandry, Dr Barnabas Malle, who accompanied them to Kaltungo Emirs Palace where the visit terminated.
