Nigerians have slammed Remi Tinubu after she advised women to carry themselves with self-respect to avoid harassment.
She said this after the Nigerian senate suspended Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over sexual harassment claims.

In response, a video resurfaced online showing Remi Tinubu engaging in a public altercation during her time as a senator, sparking backlash.
Many recalled Remi Tinubu’s time as a senator, accusing her of engaging in public spats and showing disregard for others without fighting for any just cause.
Reacting to the video, a Twitter user @SerahIbrahim wrote, “Remi Tinubu is a disgrace. At least Senator Natasha is fighting for her rights and rights of her constituents, Remi Tinubu while seating as Senator fought with no respect and no regard for no just cause. We have not forgotten Nigerians will continue to stand for Senator Natasha.”
Another user @mezieabia added, “Senator Natasha is fighting for her rights as a woman. No dirty man can take advantage of a woman who knows her worth. Remi Tinubu has a bad history as a female Senator to speak ill of Senator Natasha who’s fighting to uphold her dignity as a woman. Wife of the President aside, Remi is not in Natasha’s class in terms of public composure. We will look at anyone in the face and tell them the truth, anywhere and anytime. Remi Tinubu fought many times in the Nigerian Senate chambers. It happened in this country. Remi fought dirty with Dino Melaye even on Valentine’s Day. Nobody suspended her for turning the Nigerian Senate chambers to a WWE wrestling ring. If Remi cannot use her position as the First Lady to speak for women politicians being sexually harassed by the men, she should stop reminding us of her past as a fighting senator.”
Remi Tinubu had applauded the Senate for “doing the needful” over Natasha’s suspension.
