Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has reinstated Hon. Samson Osagie as the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, effective immediately.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that this decision comes after an investigative panel cleared Osagie of allegations of financial infractions.
According to a statement signed by Barrister Umar Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the Government of Edo State, “the report of the Investigative Panel has exonerated you from the said allegations.”
The statement further conveyed the governor’s directive for Osagie to resume his duties as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
Osagie was initially suspended on February 6, 2025, pending an investigation into allegations of “grave official and financial infractions”. At the time, Osagie denied any wrongdoing, stating that he would defend himself against the accusations.
