In a move to alleviate the burden of fasting on families, the Chairman of Shani Local Government Area of Borno State, Hon. Hassan Abdu Labaki, has distributed Ramadan palliatives to households across the 11 wards of the local government.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the distribution which included essential food items such as bags of rice, sugar, and maize, was witnessed by distinguished guests, including Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Kayegwa, member representing Shani in the Borno State House of Assembly.
According to Abba Suleiman, Personal Assistant on Media Publicity to the Executive Chairman, “The Executive Chairman, Hon. Hassan Abdu Labaki, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum CON, Mni, fnse, fniae, Executive Governor of Borno State, for his humanitarian support to the people of Shani.”
Abba Suleiman quoted Hon. Hassan Abdu Labaki as saying, “We urge the beneficiaries to utilize the food items to support their families during the fasting period. This gesture is aimed at reducing the economic burden on our people during this holy month.”
The distribution was also attended by Mrs. Lidia Kandare, Deputy Women Leader of Borno State, the Vice Chairman, APC party secretary, Legislative Council, traditional leaders, and security personnel, among others.
